Chat History

BodhAI saves your conversations so you can return to them later. Everything is stored in the local database on your BodhAI server — chat history never leaves your network.

Open Conversations in the sidebar to see your past conversations, newest first. You only ever see your own conversations — not other users'.

What is saved

Each conversation keeps the full record of every turn:

• The question and the complete answer
• Source citations — the documents each answer drew from
• Generated documents — download cards for any files the assistant produced
• Reasoning — the assistant's step-by-step working (the "Thought for a moment" panel), including which tools it used

Resuming a conversation

Click a conversation to reopen it. Citations, generated-file cards, and reasoning panels are restored exactly as they appeared during the live session. You can continue asking follow-up questions — the assistant keeps the earlier context.

Renaming and deleting

Each row in the Conversations list has rename and delete actions:

• Rename — edit the title in place. Useful for conversations you want to find again.
• Delete — removes the conversation permanently. This cannot be undone.

There is no content search across conversations yet — the list shows titles ordered by recency, so rename the ones you want to keep findable.

Retention

Conversations are deleted automatically after a retention period set by your admin (default: 30 days). Rename a conversation if you need it — renaming does not extend retention, so export or copy anything you must keep long-term.

Admins can also disable history storage entirely for the organisation. When disabled, conversations are not persisted after the session. See System Settings.
